KONE, a global leader in elevator and escalator industry, has appointed Amit Gossain as the new India MD effective 28 September 2015. Amit takes over responsibility for KONE’s Indian subsidiary from Neeraj Sharma, who had earlier joined the Executive Board of KONE as Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific & Middle East.
Amit brings with him more than 25 years of rich and diverse professional experience across functions like Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product Management and Corporate Affairs. His last assignment was with JCB India Limited as Executive Vice President, where he was responsible for both India and SAARC countries. Under Amit’s leadership, brand JCB was twice awarded as one of India’s most impactful brands.
He is the immediate past President of Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA), which has memberships from leading construction & finance companies. He is also the Chairman of the CII Committee on Solid Waste Management for India.
Amit started his career in 1988 and worked with major Capital goods, Engineering, Construction & Agriculture Equipment manufacturer’s in India and abroad.
He worked with L&T’s Earthmoving and Construction Equipment Division in Sales & Marketing in India before moving to Australia with CNH Global where he worked in various leadership roles for ten years, his final assignment being Head of Sales and Marketing – Construction Equipment Group for APAC. He then, moved back to India and joined JCB.
