Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) Chairman M Ravindran has stated that in the National Capital Region (NCR), has provided a record one lakh piped natural gas (PNG) connections in 2014-15 to its new domestic customers.
He stated that IGL has set higher targets for providing PNG connections in the future years too.
Ravindran said IGL will consolidate its presence in existing areas of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida and trying to go beyond boundaries.
He disclosed that IGL has improved its performance on the scale of Customer Satisfaction Index as compared to last year as per a study conducted by a leading market research agency.
IGL recorded a growth of 22 per cent in net profit to Rs 437 crore in 2014-15. Its gross turnover decreased to Rs 4,048 crore in 2014-15 from Rs 4,328 crore in 2013-14, despite increase in sales volume due to a sharp reduction in CNG and domestic PNG retail prices.
The shareholders approved a dividend of 60 per cent as recommended by the Board of Directors.
IGL currently sells CNG to over 8 lakh vehicles in NCR through a network of over 300 CNG stations. It also supplies piped natural gas to over 6,00,000 households in Delhi and NCR towns.
