Bangalore: Aerospace major HAL together with Bangalore Chambers of Industry & Commerce & Society of Indian Aerospace Technological & Industries has formed a non-profit organization for developing skills in the aerospace & aviation sector.
HAL Chair R K Tyagi would be going the governing council of the organization to be registered soon, the company said in a release.
The council will consist of members from aviation majors, airport operators & academia. Air India, Airways, Spice Jet, Indigo, GVK Group, Tata, ISRO & NAL have been invited to be a part of in this endeavour, it added.
“The Council is mandated to train approximately 4 lakh persons over the next 10 years in 90 different trades recognized for better employment opportunities, enhancing employability & bridging gaps in skills required in this sector,” Tyagi said.
HAL said the broader objective of this collaboration is to aggregate skill requirements of the industry such as sub-sector requirements, regional requirements & international trends and best practices that can be presented in the domestic skill development space.
The Sector Skill Council would also build capacity for training delivery & regulate the skill growth activities in the industry areas including growth of National Occupational Standards, qualifications, training curriculum & evaluation criteria, it added.
