TN gains robust inflow of housing projects

Chennai: Aiming to foster the state’s reality segment, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa revealed a clan of housing projects. The initiatives announced include a Rs612 crore project of 10-storeyed apartments in Sholinganallur, a Rs 120-crore satellite township on the outskirts of Madurai and a proposal to build 4,454 houses in several other districts.

The Sholinganallur project will have 1,500 flats and use ‘pre-fab technology’. It would have separate sections for low, middle and higher income groups.

Additionally, the state has also planned to develop a satellite township involving a cost of Rs120 crore involving 19,500 plots. The plots to be allotted amongst the low, middle, high income and economically weaker sections of the society will be also equipped with all effective basic amenities.
